Burn and scald first aid

The principles for hot water, pans, chemicals or electrical burns: cool, cover, transport. Depth is easily underestimated under the coat.

⚠️ 🚨 緊急時

No toothpaste, soy sauce or butter on burns — they trap heat and add infection.

🚨 応急処置の手順

  1. 1Flush the area with cool running water for 10-20 minutes
  2. 2Electrical burns: cut power before touching the pet
  3. 3Chemical burns: wear gloves, flush with water for at least 20 minutes
  4. 4Cover loosely with clean moist dressing
  5. 5Keep the pet warm (large burn areas lose heat fast)
  6. 6Note the cause and duration; transport

⛔ 絶対にしないこと

  • ✕No ice packs or ice water (vasoconstriction deepens necrosis)
  • ✕Don't burst blisters or peel skin
  • ✕Even small burns need the vet — depth is underestimated under fur
