After a car accident or fall
Vehicle and fall trauma is often «light outside, heavy inside» — intact skin doesn't rule out organ or bone damage. On site: minimal movement, warmth, fast transport.

Moving a spinal-injury pet wrongly causes paralysis — slide flat, never hug the chest or belly.
🚨 Étapes de premiers secours
- 1Secure the scene (traffic, power) before approaching
- 2Check consciousness, breathing, visible bleeding — stop bleeding first
- 3Suspected spinal injury: slide whole-body onto a board or rigid stretcher
- 4Otherwise: carry in a blanket supporting the whole body, spine level
- 5Small pets: place in a box lined with towels to reduce shaking
- 6Note fall height / speed / impact point
⛔ À ne jamais faire
- ✕Don't rule out internal injury because it can walk (spleen bleeds delayed by hours)
- ✕Don't press the belly to check pain (may worsen internal bleeding)
- ✕Don't feed or water (emergency anesthesia may be needed)
